Iran's readiness to hold a conference on governmental legal cooperation in the fight against terrorism

Reza Najafi, the Deputy for Legal and International Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation with Kamalinne Pinitpuvadol, the Secretary-General of AALCO, during the sixty-first session of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) in Bali, Indonesia. Najafi emphasized the significance of international legal developments and the expanding domains therein, stating, "The Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to the development and formulation of international law and, therefore, places special emphasis on legal issues within AALCO's agenda." The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the necessity of the role played by Asian and African governments in the process of international legal developments, underscoring the legal needs of AALCO member countries. He declared, "Iran is ready to bolster its collaboration and interactions with AALCO and to have greater participation in various areas of international law." Pointing to the importance of governmental legal cooperation in the realm of countering and preventing terrorism, he announced our country's readiness to convene a conference in this regard. Kamalinne Pinitpuvadol expressed appreciation for Iran's participation and activities within AALCO, stating, "We consistently acknowledge Iran's support and efforts in reinforcing Asian and African stances and perspectives on international law matters." Emphasizing the enhancement of legal processes in the fight against terrorism, AALCO declared its readiness to collaborate with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
