Iranian FM meets his Indonesian counterpart in Geneva

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who has traveled to Geneva to participate in the Disarmament Conference and the Human Rights Council meeting, met with his Indonesian counterpart Sugiono on Monday morning.   In the meeting, Araghchi referred to the age-old relations between the two countries and stressed the resolve of the 14th Iranian administration to expand bilateral ties in all areas of mutual interest between these two important and developing Muslim nations.   Speaking about the regional and global developments, especially the situation in occupied Palestine, the top Iranian diplomat called for increased efforts by the Muslim world to counter the sinister plans of the Zionist regime on ethnic cleansing and identity erasure in Gaza and the West Bank.   Araghchi described the upcoming meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation a significant opportunity to deal with the issue.   The Indonesian foreign minister, for his part, emphasized the importance of ties between Jakarta and Tehran and said his country is ready to expand ties with Iran in all areas of mutual interest.   Sugiono also underscored the necessity of Muslim countries helping the Palestinian people achieve their rights within the framework of the OIC.
